AHA Advocacy Alliance for Rural Hospitals

The AHA Advocacy Alliance for Rural Hospitals will highlight the work that the AHA is doing on behalf of its small and rural members and engage these members in garnering support for rural legislation and priorities on Capitol Hill.  In the near-term, we will focus on the Medicare rural extenders that are expiring this year including ambulance add-ons, section 508 reclassification, outpatient hold-harmless, Medicare-dependent hospital program, the low-volume adjustment, and the grandfathering of technical component of pathology services.  In addition, the Alliance will continue rural outreach to rural hospitals with a focus on Critical Access Hospital (CAH) priorities, direct supervision, hospital/Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)/Rural Health Center (RHC) relations, "Tweener" priorities, and the RCH demonstration.
