| 10:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. | TRUSTEE EDUCATIONAL SESSION II Effective Leadership in Times of Transformative Change |
||||||||||
Health reform, economic challenges, payment reductions, government regulation and sanctions, clinical transformation - the challenges, risks, and tasks facing governance of hospitals and health care systems are monumental and difficult to overstate. To survive in this environment, organizations must transform their delivery system to provide value, quality and safe care; they must eliminate waste and inefficiency; they must break-even or better at new Medicare reimbursement rates; and they must leverage clinical integration to do this. How to do this is unclear but what is certain is that leaders must work very differently to transform their organizations. In this presentation, JAMES E. ORLIKOFF, president, Orlikoff & Associates, Inc., will outline approaches to this type of transformative leadership and will provide examples of organizational transformation and the leadership that achieved it. Presented by the Center for Healthcare Governance |
