Please continue to urge your Member of Congress to support the “Dear Colleague” letter to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) being circulated by Reps. Joe Crowley (D-NY) and Pete Sessions (R-TX). The letter urges CMS to make changes to the coding offset contained in the proposed inpatient prospective payment system (PPS) rule for fiscal year (FY) 2011. CMS’ proposed rule will drastically cut hospitals’ FY 2011 payments. Click here to see if your representative has signed on. If not, please contact him or her immediately and urge them to do so.
Also, please consider submitting your own comments to CMS on the proposed rule. The AHA has provided a model comment letter that you can use to draft your comments. See our May 27 Special Bulletin or click here to download the model letter. Only one week remains to submit your comments before the June 18 deadline!
