Expanding Pediatric Mental Health Services in the Face of a Workforce Shortage:
Samaritan Health Services, Corvallis, OR
Wednesday, December 7, 2016

3:30 pm – 4:30 pm Eastern

On behalf of the American Hospital Association Section for Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Services, I invite you to join a small group of your executive colleagues for a conference call and discussion. Caroline Fisher, M.D., Ph.D., vice president and chair Mental Health, and Heidi May-Stoulil, Director of Mental Health Operations, Samaritan Health Services, Corvallis, OR will describe how Samaritan Health System is trying to expand access to pediatric patients by changing the way mental illness is addressed in both primary and specialty care.

The speakers will share Samaritan’s Pediatric Psychiatry Pilot project, which fully integrates a psychiatry team in pediatrician’s offices.  They’ll outline the role & responsibilities of the members of the psychiatry team, and the resulting improved outcomes in patient care.  Speakers will also describe the various reimbursement options for these services; as well as why it’s a cost effective initiative, despite a few barriers to implementation.

There will be time for you to ask questions and talk with the speakers about the program as well as to share your own initiatives.  To register, click here.  An email with information on how to access the webinar will be sent to you on Tuesday, December 6th.

If you have any questions, please contact Member Relations at 800-424-4301.
