Rising health costs top the concerns of Americans and dominate the news.  Spending on health care consumes a large chunk of the nation’s resources and is expected to increase.  It will remain front and center as costs continue to climb. More can and should be done to make care more affordable. With costs of caring on the rise and demand increasing, there is pressure to keep costs affordable.

Keeping health care affordable will involve every segment of the health care system – insurers, hospitals, business, physicians, nurses, employers, and individuals. As a hub of health care in a community, hospitals play a critical role in keeping costs down and are addressing the growing cost of health care in a variety of ways.
