AHA Member Center

Recognized as the national advocate for hospitals and the communities and patients they serve, the AHA works with its members, state, regional, and metropolitan associations and other organizations to shape and influence federal legislation and regulation to improve the ability of its members to deliver quality health care.

The AHA ensures that the unique needs of its various constituencies are heard and addressed in national health policy development, legislative and regulatory debates, and judicial matters.

  • AHA institutional membership encompasses approximately 5,000 hospitals, health care systems and other providers of care.
  • AHA Associate Members are companies recognized as key partners of America's hospitals and health systems. These companies choose to forge better business relationships with hospitals based on knowledge, trust, and an interest in advancing the health of America.
  • AHA Personal Membership Groups (PMGs) are societies organized around distinct professional groups and range in size from 1000 to nearly 6000 members. Each PMG provides specific education, publications, networking, leadership opportunities, and recognition to targeted healthcare professionals.
  • American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) provides leadership, professional development, advocacy, and research in order to advance nursing practice and patient care, promote nursing leadership excellence, and shape healthcare public policy.
