Rich Umbdenstock, AHA President and CEO
As the second anniversary of passage of the Accountable Care Act approaches, the Supreme Court is getting ready to hear oral arguments on the various challenges to it. Prognostications about how the justices will eventually rule are about as reliable as the weather has been this winter. Still, there are plenty of things we can count on. First, it will be an election year, and health care will be a hot topic, from local races all the way to the presidential contest. Second, performance improvement will be high on every hospital's list of priorities, regardless of what happens in the Supreme Court or the elections. Third, you can rely on the AHA to keep you informed about new developments and involved in both excellence and advocacy in the months ahead. Our unity is our strength, especially in these topsy-turvy times.
