Thanks on the Menu

Rich Umbdenstock, AHA President and CEO

I have much to give thanks for this Thanksgiving. My family, my country and my field continue to amaze me as they grow, change and get stronger, even when the pace overwhelms. Barb and I await a third grandchild; we've witnessed another contentious but peaceful election; and I had the good fortune years ago to choose a career in hospitals and health care. Every industry is grappling with profound change - ask anyone in aviation or a tech company. But while the changes we are making in health care and hospitals are profound, the rewards will be far more enormous for patients and communities alike. Thanks for continuing to work with the AHA and one another to reinvent health care, one challenge after another; you inspire me. And may you and your families have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks,
Rich
