Counting on Coverage?

Rich Umbdenstock, AHA President and CEO

Federal and state governments will soon begin enrolling eligible individuals for affordable health care insurance — but people won’t enroll if they don’t know about the new coverage options. Hospitals can play a critical role in making the enrollment process easy, accessible and widely available. We have gathered together AHA, federal and state resources on a new “Get Enrolled” page on aha.org. Don’t miss the advisory outlining coverage opportunities under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, including private options available through the new Health Insurance Marketplaces and public options through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. It also describes the roles hospitals and health care organizations can play in helping patients get appropriate coverage. And if you missed our July 25 Members-only Town Hall Interactive Webcast, there’s still time to catch a replay. Coverage is coming — but we have to help it happen.

Thanks,
Rich
