Cream of the Crop

Rich Umbdenstock, AHA President and CEO

Ripe for the picking: examples of the inspiring work that garnered prestigious awards for health care organizations at the recent Health Forum and American Hospital Association Leadership Summit. Circle of Life Award winners The Denver Hospice, Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute at Mount Sinai Medical Center and UnityPoint Health were honored for innovative programs in palliative and end-of-life care. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, received the AHA-McKesson Quest for Quality Prize for its commitment to the Institute of Medicine's six quality aims. Four effective collaborative programs that are focused on improving community health status received AHA NOVA Awards. Click on the links above to read and see videos about the work that earned these organizations and others special recognition this year. And find out how you or your organization can make a nomination or be nominated for one of next year’s awards at www.aha.org/about/awards/index.shtml.

Thanks,
Rich
