Your Role in Enrollment

Rich Umbdenstock, AHA President and CEO

The Census Bureau reported this week that a quarter of American households with incomes below $25,000 a year still lack health insurance. Oct. 1 kicks off the six-month period when many of them will be able to sign up for affordable health care insurance through one of the new state-based Marketplaces – good news for all of us concerned about coverage. This is a new process, so many will need guidance to determine eligibility and their options. They would like to receive that guidance from people they trust – like you. The AHA has plenty of information for hospitals still exploring their most effective options to support health insurance enrollment. On our “Get Enrolled!” web page, you’ll find a link to replay a must-see webcast we had this week and plenty of other resources. Remember, enrollment starts Oct. 1, but that’s just the beginning.

Thanks,
Rich
