On Nov. 18, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will release online training for health care providers and surveyors on phase one of the final rule revising Medicare and Medicaid quality and safety requirements for long-term care facilities. Phase one requirements take effect Nov. 28. Issued last month, the rule is the first major rewrite of the requirements since 1991. Health care providers will be able to access the training at http://surveyortraining.cms.hhs.gov/pubs/ProviderTraining.aspx
