President Trump yesterday issued an executive order establishing a commission to study the scope and effectiveness of the federal response to drug addiction and the opioid crisis, and make recommendations to him for improving the response. The executive order calls for the commission to submit interim recommendations within 90 days and final recommendations by Oct. 1, unless the chair requests an extension. The commission will be administered by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, and its members and chair appointed by President Trump.
