The American Organization of Nurse Executives has chosen as its next president-elect Mary Ann Fuchs, vice president of patient care and system chief nurse executive at Duke University Health System in Durham, N.C., and associate dean of clinical affairs for the Duke University School of Nursing. As 2019 president-elect, Fuchs will become AONE president in 2020. Also elected to three-year terms on the AONE Board of Directors beginning Jan. 1 were David Marshall, system chief nursing and patient care services executive at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, treasurer; Paula Coe, vice president of nursing education and professional practice at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh; Jacqueline Herd, executive vice president and chief nursing officer at Grady Health System in Atlanta; Christina Dempsey, senior vice president and chief nursing officer at Press Ganey Associates in Springfield, Mo.; and Kevin McEwan, chief nursing officer at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho.
