The Institute for Diversity in Health Management is committed to expanding health care leadership opportunities for ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse individuals, and increasing the number of these individuals entering and advancing in the field. The institute was originally founded in 1994 and became part of AHA as a subsidiary in 2003. In 2017, its name changed to the Institute for Diversity and Equity of Care.
