Description

An Introduction to the ER & Urgent Care Hybrid Model
Transforming Access to Ambulatory Patient-Centered Care

Wednesday, June 24, 2026
1 - 2 p.m. Eastern; noon - 1 p.m. Central; 10 - 11 a.m. Pacific

This webinar will focus on the growing challenge of patient access and cost inefficiencies across emergency departments, freestanding ERs and urgent care centers as capacity expands, but effective triage remains inconsistent. Patients often struggle to determine the appropriate site of care, leading to overcrowded emergency rooms, unnecessary costs, duplicated services and variable patient experiences. Industry data highlighted in the presentation illustrates significant avoidable emergency spending driven by nonemergent conditions, persistent consumer confusion and fragmented care pathways — issues that negatively affect patients, payers and health systems alike.

To address these systemic challenges, the Intuitive Health model emphasizes the value of an integrated, patient-centered care approach that combines multiple levels of acuity in a single location. This model prioritizes rapid clinical evaluation, appropriate site-of-service utilization, and care-appropriate billing to improve outcomes and reduce waste. Supported by data-driven site selection and real-world case studies, the approach demonstrates how integrated access strategies can increase patient satisfaction, improve operational efficiency, strengthen market presence and generate improved financial performance for health systems while aligning cost, quality and patient experience objectives.

Attendees Will Learn:

  • The ER & Urgent Care hybrid model and how it differentiates from traditional emergency departments, freestanding ERs and standalone urgent care centers.

  • The “Right Care, Right Price, Right Now” approach and how eliminating self‑triage improves patient experience, clinical outcomes and cost alignment.

  • The drivers and consequences of inappropriate ER utilization, including avoidable costs, duplicate billing, access challenges and patient dissatisfaction.

  • Evaluate the value of the hybrid model for health systems, including access strategy, network retention, downstream revenue and payer alignment.

  • Assess whether a hybrid ER & Urgent Care model can serve as an effective front‑door strategy to support growth, market share and consumer‑centric care delivery.
