The rapidly changing health care environment calls for new ideas and approaches.
We need to expand capacity to test new models of care, leverage technology and data in novel ways, and develop the leadership skills and competencies necessary to transform the system. Innovation capacity is about closing the gap between aspirations and the capacity for leaders and organizations to innovate by building a mindset and muscle to identify breakthrough ideas and opportunities – and put them into practice.
The AHA Center for Health Innovation serves as an important knowledge and relationship hub, connecting health care organizations with innovators and resources representing a wide range of sectors from technology to design to engineering. The Center also trains senior and emerging leaders to become practitioners in innovation science, so they can bring back the most advanced thinking to bear on patient-centric, value-based care to their organizations.
