Eligible inpatient and cancer hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation facilities and long-term care hospitals now have until Feb. 27 to submit data on healthcare-associated infections to the National Healthcare Safety Network, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced today, citing recent “periodic latency” using the system. The original deadline was Feb. 15. The extension applies only to HAI data. The Feb. 15 deadline for certain other inpatient, IRF and LTCH measures remains unchanged. Questions related to inpatient and cancer hospital quality reporting may be submitted online at https://cms-ip.custhelp.com. Questions regarding IRF and LTCH reporting may be submitted to IRF.questions@cms.hhs.gov or LTCHQualityQuestions@cms.hhs.gov, respectively. NHSN questions may be submitted to NHSN@cdc.gov.
