Employment at the nation's hospitals increased by 0.18% in February to a seasonally adjusted 4,836,100 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. That's 8,700 more people than in January and 69,600 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 8,900 more people than in January and 70,800 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points in February to 5.5%.
