The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD, today admitted for treatment an American health care worker who tested positive for Ebola virus while volunteering in an Ebola treatment unit in Sierra Leone. The hospital, which has a special high-level isolation unit staffed by infectious disease and critical care specialists, successfully treated a past Ebola patient and two patients exposed to Ebola in West Africa who were later found not to be infected.
