The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services last week re-issued hospital-specific reports to all hospitals in the fiscal year 2016 Hospital Acquired Condition Reduction Program to correct inaccuracies in the surgical site infection measure scores. The revised reports also include updated domain 2 and total HAC scores, and indicate whether hospitals may be subject to the HAC penalty. Hospitals may review the revised reports at the QualityNet secure portal through Oct. 21, but may only submit correction requests for the revised SSI data and total HAC score. AHA urges all hospitals to review their recalculated reports and, if necessary, submit corrections before the new 30-day review and corrections period ends on Oct. 21.
