The Department of Labor yesterday awarded $200,000 each to 52 states and territories to expand and expedite registered apprenticeship programs through ApprenticeshipUSA. The grants are part of $90 million in fiscal year 2016 funding for the program, which works with business and education leaders, nonprofits and local governments to expand the use of the earn-while-you-learn model. The AHA participates in the program as a Leader of Excellence in Apprenticeship Development, Education and Research.
