A total of 168 organizations, including the AHA, last week urged House and Senate appropriators to maintain at least $334 million in budget authority for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in fiscal year 2017. “We worry that further cuts to AHRQ’s budget authority would make it harder for health care delivery organizations, health providers, policymakers and the people they serve to make informed choices about how to obtain the best care while addressing costs and protecting patient safety,” the organizations said in a letter to leaders of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees.
