Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.15% in May to a seasonally adjusted 5,104,400 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. That's 7,400 more people than in April and 95,500 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,092,000 people in May – 6,800 more than in April and 93,800 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate fell by 0.1 percentage point in May to 4.3%.
