Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.23% in June to a seasonally adjusted 5,111,000 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. That's 11,700 more people than in May and 90,900 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,109,200 people in June – 23,600 more than in May and 89,700 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate rose by 0.1 percentage point in June to 4.4%.
