CMS announces MLR credibility adjustments for Medicaid/CHIP plans
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today published the medical loss ratio credibility adjustments for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program managed care plans for rating periods beginning July 1, 2017 or later. CMS’s 2016 final rule for Medicaid and CHIP managed care plans included MLR standards and required CMS to publish MLR credibility adjustments annually to account for the potential variation in smaller managed care plans.
