SAMHSA offers tips for consumers seeking effective addiction treatment

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today published tips for consumers seeking effective treatment for alcohol or drug addiction. The blog post by Anne Herron, acting director of the SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, highlights considerations ranging from accreditation to evidence-based treatment and continuing care. SAMHSA also offers an online tool for locating behavioral health treatment services.
