Mobile app lets consumers find what original Medicare covers
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today released a mobile app that shows whether fee-for-service Medicare covers a specific medical item or service. The agency said consumers and others can use the “What’s Covered” app to get coverage information from the doctor’s office, hospital or anywhere they use their mobile device. Part of CMS’s eMedicare initiative to empower beneficiaries with cost and quality information, the free app is available at Google Play and the Apple App Store.
