CMS accepting applications for new kidney care model

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will accept applications for the Kidney Care Choices model through Jan. 22, the agency said today. Announced in July, the payment model includes a Kidney Care First option and three Comprehensive Kidney Care Contracting options, which seek to incentivize care management and kidney transplants and delay dialysis for beneficiaries with end-stage renal disease and chronic kidney disease.
