CDC investigates salmonella outbreak
 
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention yesterday said it is investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Newport infections.
CDC said 125 people infected with the outbreak strain have been reported from 15 states, with 24 reported hospitalizations. The agency has yet to identify a specific food, grocery store or restaurant chain as the outbreak’s source.
