AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack today took part in a Kaiser Permanente launch of a new initiative to help expand support for public health. The multi-sector initiative focuses on public health’s role in health care delivery, community-based organizations and research, with a goal of addressing gaps that were exposed during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to AHA, the initiative has support from AHIP, the Alliance of Community Health Plans and the American Medical Association.
