Judge blocks cuts to NIH grant funding

A federal judge has temporarily blocked cuts to indirect cost rates for National Institutes of Health grants nationwide.
Today’s order expands the scope of the temporary injunction issued last night that applied only to certain states. The agency Feb. 7 issued guidance saying it would apply a straight 15% indirect cost rate across all new and existing grant awards beginning Feb. 10.
