House vote expected on government funding package
The House is expected to begin a final vote Nov. 12 on the Senate-backed funding package, bringing a potential end to the government shutdown one step closer. The package includes three bills to support a full year of spending for the Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration; the legislative branch; and Department of Defense construction projects and the Department of Veterans Affairs. A short-term continuing resolution is also included to fund the rest of the federal government until Jan. 30. The package also retroactively extends key health care waivers and flexibilities until Jan. 30. The AHA will provide additional updates on the situation as details become available.
