Stryker, a medical technology company that provides services and products for hospitals, was disrupted globally by a cyberattack, the company announced March 11. The company said its Microsoft environment was impacted and that there was no indication of ransomware or malware. Stryker said it believed the incident had been contained.

“We are aware of the reports of the cyberattack against Stryker and are actively exchanging information with the hospital field and the federal government to understand the nature of the threat and assess any impact to hospital operations,” said John Riggi, AHA national advisor for cybersecurity and risk. “At this time, we are not aware of any direct impacts or disruptions to U.S. hospitals as a result of this attack. That may change as hospitals evaluate services, technology and the supply chain related to Stryker and as the duration of the attack extends.”
