The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services May 15 released its 2027 final standards for the health insurance marketplaces, including the issuers and brokers who assist marketplace enrollees. Notably, the final rule will allow for the certification of non-network health plans as qualified health plans, beginning in plan year 2027 in state-based marketplaces and plan year 2028 in the federally facilitated marketplace. The final rule also expands access to catastrophic health plans and repeals the standardized plan options. AHA members will receive a Regulatory Advisory with additional details.
