Accountable care organizations interested in participating in the redesigned Medicare Shared Savings Program beginning July 1 must submit their notices of intent to apply by 12 p.m. ET on Jan. 18. Notices of intent are required to apply for the program’s new BASIC or ENHANCED tracks, skilled nursing facility three-day rule waiver, and/or to establish a beneficiary incentive program. Submitting a notice of intent does not bind an organization to submit an application, and ACOs can make changes to their tracks, repayment mechanisms and other notice of intent information during the July 1 to Feb. 19 application submission period.
