The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has extended to Jan. 2, 2018 the deadline for hospitals to amend their Medicare Cost Report Worksheet S-10s from fiscal years 2014 and 2015. The new data will not be used to calculate Medicare disproportionate share payments for FY 2018, but will be available for use in future years. CMS expects data from worksheets received after Dec. 1, 2017 and before Jan. 2, 2018 to be reflected in the inpatient prospective payment system final rule for FY 2019. CMS recently released additional changes to the worksheet instructions.
