The AHA today released a guide to help hospital and health system board members and leaders implement an emerging strategy to ensure continued access to emergency and outpatient services in vulnerable communities. The emergency medical center strategy is one of nine strategies identified by an AHA task force last year to help ensure access to care in vulnerable communities, and one of several potential federal policy solutions to ensure access to emergency services in vulnerable communities.
