The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services yesterday requested input on how to eliminate barriers to and enhance insurers’ ability to sell individual health insurance coverage across state lines. Questions in the request for information focus on expanding access to health insurance across state lines, operationalizing the sale of health insurance across state lines, and the financial impact of selling insurance across state lines. The RFI was issued in response to an October 2017 executive order directing agencies to expand alternative health coverage options, and will be published in tomorrow’s Federal Register with comments accepted for 60 days.
