Historic flooding in Midwest affects hospitals
Historic flooding in parts of the Midwest caused a number of Nebraska hospitals to be inaccessible by ground transportation, the Nebraska Hospital Association said in an email communication yesterday. In addition, at least two hospitals have sustained damage from the floodwaters, and at least a dozen long-term care facilities were evacuated in northeast Nebraska, NHA said yesterday. Two people in Nebraska and one person from Iowa have died as a result of the flooding, which is expected to continue this week.
