Feb. 19 deadline for CAHs to apply for reconsideration of EHR payment adjustment
Critical access hospitals that did not achieve meaningful use in the Medicare Electronic Health Record Incentive Program for the 2016 reporting period or receive a hardship exception will see their Medicare payments reduced to 100% of their reasonable costs in fiscal year 2018, according to a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services fact sheet reviewing the program’s annual payment adjustment amounts for CAHs. CMS has extended the deadline for CAHs that received a payment adjustment to apply for reconsideration. The new deadline is Feb. 19. For more information, visit cms.gov.
