CMS extends ground ambulance, home health moratoria

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today extended for another six months its moratoria on enrollment of new Medicare home health agencies in Florida, Illinois, Michigan and Texas, and on new Part B non-emergency ground ambulance suppliers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania. The extension also applies to new non-emergency ground ambulance suppliers and home health agencies in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program in those states. CMS implemented the moratoria on newly enrolling Medicare providers and suppliers after it identified patterns of fraud, waste or abuse among these particular provider types and geographic locations.
