ASPR seeks input on National Disaster Pediatric Initiative
The Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response seeks stakeholder input through April 26 on a proposed National Disaster Pediatric Initiative to enhance the nation’s pediatric care capability during disasters. The initiative will be part of the National Disaster Medical System and complementary to the Hospital Preparedness Program and Regional Disaster Health Response System. In coming months, ASPR plans to announce a funding opportunity for the first phase of the initiative – a pilot project for two Pediatric Disaster Care Centers of Excellence.
