President signs executive order to strengthen the cybersecurity workforce
President Trump yesterday signed an executive order to help strengthen the nation’s cybersecurity workforce. The order encourages widespread adoption of the cybersecurity workforce framework created by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education. It also creates a number of new programs to “grow and strengthen our cybersecurity workforce to meet the challenges of the 21st century.” They include a new President’s Cup Cybersecurity Challenge, a rotational program for federal employees to expand their cybersecurity skills and the Presidential Cybersecurity Education Awards, recognizing excellent elementary and secondary school educators teaching cybersecurity-related content.
