White House updates national plan for investing in AI

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Friday released an updated national plan for federal investment in artificial intelligence research and development, which defines priority areas for investment in health care and other sectors. In February, the president signed an executive order launching the American AI Initiative, a concerted effort to promote and protect AI technology and innovation in the United States. As part of the AHA’s strategic thought leadership on the future of the health care workforce, the AHA Task Force on The Changing Workforce will work to identify the challenges, benefits and considerations of using technology to augment care, such as telemedicine, artificial intelligence/machine learning and robotics.
