CMS announces certain waivers in response to tropical storm in La.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Saturday announced several actions to ensure hospitals and other health care facilities can continue operations and provide access to care in parts of Louisiana affected by Tropical Storm Barry. These include temporarily waiving or modifying certain Medicare, Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program requirements; creating special enrollment opportunities for individuals to access health care immediately; and steps to ensure dialysis patients can access critical services.
