HHS announces drug pricing reform leadership change

John O’Brien will soon depart his position as senior advisor for drug pricing reform, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced yesterday. John Brooks, principal deputy director of the Center for Medicare, will expand his current responsibilities to fill the vacancy. O’Brien, a pharmacist who previously served as deputy assistant secretary for health policy, assumed the senior advisor role last December and helped design and execute President Trump’s blueprint to lower prescription drug prices.
