Reminder: CMS call Dec. 3 on disclosure of hospital negotiated rates
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host a Dec. 3 call at 1:30 p.m. ET on its final rule requiring hospitals to disclose payer-specific negotiated rates effective Jan. 1, 2021. Released last week, the rule will require hospitals to post their gross charges, negotiated rates, minimum and maximum negotiated rates, and discounted cash prices for all items and services in a machine-readable format on their websites. The rule also requires hospitals to post similar information for 300 "shoppable" services in a consumer-friendly way.
