Kentucky drops Medicaid work requirement

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear yesterday repealed a requirement that some adult Medicaid beneficiaries work or engage in activities such as job training or volunteer work to remain eligible for coverage, effectively ending a legal challenge to the requirement in that state. The Trump administration in April appealed federal court rulings that blocked Medicaid work requirements in Kentucky and Arkansas. Beshear took office last week.
