Three states poised to expand Medicaid following ballot approvals

Voters in Nebraska, Idaho and Utah yesterday approved ballot measures calling for their states to expand Medicaid coverage to low-income adults. “Medicaid expansion will be a real life saver for thousands of Nebraskans,” commented Andy Hale, vice president of advocacy for the Nebraska Hospital Association. Brian Whitlock, president and CEO of the Idaho Hospital Association, said, “The people of Idaho sent a very straightforward message to state leaders: ‘We care about our family, friends and neighbors and providing hard-working Idahoans well-deserved insurance coverage and access to quality health care.’”
